For 2022, I simplified my yearly goals to two OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) – one is dedicated to my physical fitness; the other is to enrich my soul, love and respect my family, and be a blessing for all. ✨
The first objective is to have my best running year yet. My first key results are to complete my 2nd marathon and beat my personal best. My stretch key result is to run 26.2 miles in less than 4 hours. We’ll find out if I can do this on May 1st, 2022! 🙏 The final key result is to run 1,000 miles by the end of this year.
The second objective is something I’m very excited to announce – to launch a new podcast series. The best part is that I’ve already achieved the objective. In January 2022, I secretly launched Dear JereMaya!
It consists of voicemail messages full of stories, advice, and reflections for my twins, Jeremy and Maya, to listen to someday. But I also designed each podcast for people who are open to life lessons and growing up. I certainly wished I had a podcast in my younger days dedicated to things I wish I knew sooner in life – particularly about relationships, career pathing, finding my passions, prioritizing what’s important, and in general, adulting.
My main key result is to publish a weekly podcast for at least an entire year. That’s 52 episodes of sharing insights, experiences, and encouragement for listeners to enjoy. As of this week, I’ve published 14 episodes, and one bonus trailer (Episode 0). This is, by no means, an easy task but I absolutely love this process in creating something I find meaningful and knowing that two amazing individuals may someday benefit from these efforts. I also think there are many loved ones and strangers out there who will enjoy these thoughts and epiphanies shared.
So two OKRs. Both are stretching my limits in very different ways and will take up a large portion of my time and energy. But I’m absolutely pumped and excited to make the best of 2022!
